Holidays

So.... sadly the school holidays are drawing to an end. I have done all the essentials (i hope), school shoes, uniforms, stationary. My boys go back on Monday & Tuesday so Wednesday will be the day to breathe a big sigh of relief!!
I love the holidays - the relaxed feeling that makes everyone happy. No lunches, no homework, no trainings & sleeping in. We have all had a lovely break & I will be sad when next week arrives. However a little part of me will be happy - back to routine. Time to act on some of those resolutions I have for this year. And time to get crafty!! For that I can't wait.
I hope everyone with kids returning to school next week, enjoys a few more days of relaxation before then. I certainly intend to!!

Getting an organised bit of "My Space"

I would LOVE to be an organised person!! Unfortunately my life is organised chaos. Everything gets done & I usually know where everything is but gee life would be nice if I was organised!
So one of my desires/resolutions for this year - along with all the others - is to try & become an organised person.

Last year I painted a wall in my kitchen with blackboard paint. At the top I usually have a motivational saying for the week & then list day by day what is going on. I must say it makes a huge difference to getting out the door in the mornings! Library, sport, music, homework etc it all there for everyone to see.

My next challenge is to file all the bits & pieces of paperwork, toys, oddments into their correct places & to organised my own space where I work/create.

I love at the back of each issue of Mollie Makes magazine - http://molliemakes.themakingspot.com/blog there is a page called My Space where people talk about their "space" whether they are designers, crafters etc. Some of them are gorgeous. So let's hope by the end of 2012 I have a litlle "My Space" I can share with you!!

Enjoy the sunshine if you're in Sydney,

Blogging

I love spending way too much time reading blogs. I wish there weren't so many other things I needed to be doing, but whenever I find a spare moment my family know where to find me!

So I thought today I would share a couple of the blogs I enjoy, maybe they are new to you. I am ALWAYS keen to hear about new blogs so please share if you have any favourites!

I have long been a fan of Bondville - http://blog.stephbond.com/ A fab blog with so many great sections to browse, depending on whether I feel like checking out things for the Home, the kids or myself.

My newest absolute favourite is Mollie Makes -http://molliemakes.themakingspot.com/blog a divine magazine from the UK. Love it!!! I have a few copies a very kind friend has sent me from the UK, & I have just bought a subscription on my new ipad. Not quite the same as flicking through the paper pages but definately very close. Check it out it's fabulous.

Another blog I am loving at the moment is The Crafty Minx - http://thecraftyminx.com.au/ I love Kelly's books - The Crafty Minx is sitting beside me as we speak. Often referred to in my house when I am feeling a bit creative.

Another new one to my list is Tatty Devine - http://www.tattydevine.com/blog/ I am actually waiting for her book to arrive. I make resin jewellery which I adore & feel like I would like to expand my jewellery making abilities this year. So am looking forward to my book arriving any day now.

The last on my list for today is Anna Maria Horner - http://annamariahorner.blogspot.com/ a seriously gorgeously, creative blog. Love just looking at her pictures. So inspiring.

So there's a few of my favourite things for today.

Enjoy,

New year, new beginnings...

Wow it's 2012 already. Where do the years go? I have so many resolutions & some I've already broken! I have so many things I'd like to do/start/learn this year so I thought I should put pen to paper & begin one of them!! So here's to a beginning & a little bit about me & my life.
So where to begin today.... My 4 babies (my 4 little pickles) are each at different ages & stages but all need different types of attention. My 14 1/2 year old - a teenager needing his own freedom yet still needing guidance. The eldest so he's paving the way for his siblings. I often think eldest children carry a lot of responsibility on their shoulders which is sometimes unfair. (I too am an eldest child). My 11 year old, middle boy, finding his own way while trying not to follow in his big brothers footsteps too closely!! To make his own way in his own unique style. My 7 year old, baby boy,I sometimes worry he gets dragged around so much after his bigger brothers that there's not enough time for him! And then the Princess, my 3 year old. She is the apple of all our eyes - adored by her brothers. She rules the roost!! Life's pretty easy for her!! I hope this year the 4 of them continue to grow & develop into the wonderful people they are becoming.

My biggest resolution is to be more organized!! From that a few others should follow! Some other resolutions are: to walk everyday, start a gluten free diet & take time to meditate each day. I would like to start my own blog (done) & set up an etsy store!!

So I begin, hopefully I will gather a few followers on my way & 2012 will be a fab year!!
